About the artist: I am a disabled 34 year old mother to three girls, with a passion for authentic portrayals in my photography. I started a project in 2021 I call “Resplendent Residents” that focuses on my idea of authentic representation for marginalized communities such as the elderly, developmentally disabled, and memory loss. The first shoot took place at the Leach Home in Wahpeton, and the second this spring with Memory Cafe. The amount of gratitude from my models and their families was more than I imagined. I want to continue my project free of charge to my models: professional photography provides much more than just a picture for these people. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (main disability) as well as many other physical ailments, and also am Bipolar 1, ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety and depression as well.
