mi vida querida

this recipe is a photo i took of an open notebook found on my grandmother’s bed the last time i was able to visit her in Mexico. she was never formally educated and is losing some fine motor control as she ages, which makes for shakey handwriting and spelling errors. it is absolutely sacred to me nonetheless. despite lifelong domestic and financial hardship, she has always maintained a welcoming home, and worked hard to feed the many mouths that come to her. rage and will-power have kept her running for many years, one of our many similarities. chela y chavela, juntas para siempre, te veo en la luna cada noche y en mi reflexion cada dia. te amo, te extraño, cuidate.
